The Experience
By registering for this Broadway KIDS Academy Production, your cast member will participate in a fun introduction to musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting while working towards a culminating production of Disney's The Lion King KIDS.
Through full cast and small group rehearsals, cast members will receive training in acting, singing, and dance technique. They will learn theatrical terminology and etiquette, and they will build confidence and explore their creative side in a brave, encouraging, and challenging environment. At this level, we will focus on finding our speaking and singing voices to portray characters, projection, understanding physical space on stage, and using our movement to tell the story.
At the end of our rehearsal time together, cast members will showcase their learning in their production of Disney's The Lion King KIDS!

Auditions
No experience is needed to participate in this Broadway KIDS Academy Production. While everyone receives a role, auditions are still held to help our Production Team place each cast member in the role where they can be most successful and have the most fun.
Auditions for Disney's The Lion King KIDS will take place during our first rehearsal on Saturday, August 22nd, from 9:30–11:30 AM at the Greene County Wellness Center.
This Broadway KIDS Academy audition experience is designed to be low-stress, welcoming, and fun. Throughout the audition, cast members will participate in whole-group activities, theatre games, and ensemble-building exercises that help them get comfortable, make new friends, and showcase their unique personalities. Our goal is to create an environment where every child feels supported and encouraged.
After registering for the production, a parent/guardian will receive instructions for accessing the songs and scenes needed for auditions. Cast members will be asked to sing, dance, and act using materials provided in advance. While the audition experience itself is designed to be positive and pressure-free, preparing the audition materials at home will be key to helping each performer feel confident, comfortable, and ready to shine. Audition materials will be provided no later than August 10th.
