Kids On Stage is going #BackToTheSwamp with everyone's favorite ogre.

Who: Ages 11-18
What: Kids On Stage Fall Triple Threat Academy Production
When: See Full Rehearsal Schedule Below
Production Fee: $100, includes four months of musical theater instruction, a cast t-shirt, and script.

Show Synopsis

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.

Tuition & Fundraising

Tuition for this session of Triple Threat Academy is $100 per cast member. This production fee will include four months of musical theater instruction, a cast t-shirt, and script.  Financial assistance and payment plans are available. Please email for info.

Due to the participation cost associated with our program compared to the high cost of producing a production, several fundraisers are required of the cast. Parents may pay a buy-out fee of $150 to not have to participate in any of the planned fundraisers.

COVID-19 Precautious & Updates

Keeping our cast members safe is our number one priority. See the policies below that we plan to have in place in the fall:

Wellness Policy: If a child or staff member is exhibiting symptoms including fever, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, vomiting, or dry cough or has had these symptoms in the past fourteen days, we request they stay home and do not attend rehearsal. If a cast member is exhibiting symptoms during rehearsal, parents will be notified and they must be picked up within one hour. They will need a doctor’s note to be readmitted.

Sanitizing: Our Dream Team will be sanitizing high touch areas like door handles, restrooms, etc. throughout the day as students are in the rehearsal room.

Depending on the nature of COVID-19 at the start of rehearsals we may alter these precautions.

Schedule & Rehearsal Attendance

A full rehearsal schedule is attached below. Please look over it closely to make sure your cast member has minimal conflicts with the rehearsal process and zero conflicts with tech week and show dates. After completing the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email with an opportunity to tell our Production Team of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. We will take note of these and plan accordingly.

The rehearsal schedule is broken into small group sessions (Friday Afternoon) and full cast sessions (Saturday Afternoon). After casting, you will be able to plan for the small group sessions that your cast member should attend.

Finally, please remember a musical is a living, breathing entity. Things don't always go exactly as planned, so changes in the plan will be made throughout the rehearsal process. We promise to give you as much advanced notice as possible on all changes that arise.

Triple Threat Academy-F21: Shrek: The Musical Schedule

No experience is needed to participate in a Kids On Stage production and no one is ever cut. Auditions for Shrek The Musical will take place on August 21st from 12:30-6:30 PM. Cast members will be sent scenes & songs to prepare. They will be asked to sing, dance, and act using materials provided ahead of the audition. Materials will be sent closer to the audition date.

We will be offering a free/optional audition prep class with our Dream Team (what we call our Production Team). In this session cast members will have the opportunity to hear from the team about what they are looking for, get feedback on their audition performance prior to the actual auditions the following day, and meet other cast members.
