Our Triple Threat One Week Summer Intensive is"getting their heads in the game" with High School Musical! This intensive will be fast paced and professional as cast members work to present High School Musical as a 360 experience where audience members will be completely immersed in the musical.
Who: Ages 11-18
What: Kids On Stage One Week Intensive
When: See Full Schedule Below
Where: All Rehearsals & Performances will be held at the Greene County Wellness Center (84 N. Perry Drive, Snow Hill, NC 28580)
Production Fee: $100, includes one week of musical theater instruction, a cast t-shirt, and script.
It's the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical, led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella's alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
Tuition & Fundrasing
Tuition for this summer camp is $100 per cast member. This production fee will include one week of musical theater instruction, a cast t-shirt, and script. Financial assistance and payment plans are available. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for info.
Due to the participation cost associated with our program compared to the high cost of producing a production, several fundraisers are required of the cast. Parents may pay a buy-out fee of $150 to not have to participate in any of the planned fundraisers.
COVID-19 Precautious & Updates
Keeping our cast members safe is our number one priority. Please see the attached Summer 2021 Safety Plan for more details about the plans and procedures we have in place during the summer musical. It is likely that the COVID-19 situation could be very different this summer meaning we can loosen some of our restrictions. Should that happen, we will be sure to email all registered families.
Our Production Team is planning for an enjoyable experience not only for our cast but also for our audience. Currently, our plan is to perform inside the Greene County Wellness Center Gym with social distancing and safety precautions in place. Seats will be socially distanced and placed in “pod” groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, & 6 chairs. You will only be able to purchase an entire pod group, not individual seats. We had huge success with this for our Fall Musical & Winter Musical, and our audience seemed to really enjoy it! More details will be sent to parents in April.
Schedule & Rehearsal Attendance
A full rehearsal schedule is attached below. Please look over it closely to make sure your child has minimal conflicts with the rehearsal process and zero conflicts with tech week and show dates. After completing the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email with an opportunity to tell our Production Team of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. We will take note of these and plan accordingly.
This Summer Camp is one week long with a few pre-camp rehearsals. Pre-Camp rehearsals allow the cast and crew to lay a solid foundation before camp begins as well as prepare any needed set, costumes, and props before camp begins.
No experience is needed to participate in a Kids On Stage production and no one is ever cut. Auditions for High School Musical will take place on June 12th from 12:30-6:30 PM. Cast members will be sent scenes & songs to prepare. They will be asked to sing, dance, and act using mateirlas provided ahead of the audition. Materials will be sent closer to the audition date.
