An Inside Look Into Kids On Stage
I hope you all had a great summer and are settling into the new academic year. Fall is the perfect time to celebrate our success from our previous season and look forward to the incredible Winter Season ahead.
Our Summer production of Frozen Jr. had a fantastic run! The cast of talented young actors and actresses performed three outstanding shows for a packed audience each night! It is always amazing to see what talent comes from right here in our backyard.
This season we’re excited to present two enchanting musicals. Coming in February 2020, is A Barnyard Moosical, our first-ever Rising Star musical! The show is so entertaining and tells the journey of a unique group of animals and their journey on an unusual farm.
Coming in March 2020, our mainstage show, Into The Woods Jr, will take the stage. All of our favorite fairytale characters in one grand musical. When those magical words “Once Upon a Time” are said we know we are in for an extraordinary journey, where all end up “Happily Ever After.” And no matter how old, how experienced, how jaded one has become the frisson created by those words remains. I am excited that Kids On Stage is sharing this story and we hope you will join us.
Students can still register for these programs until September 30th. To learn more, click the button below.
This season, we have several opportunities for you to support the arts in your community. Check out the dates below to stay connected.

Each of our journeys is special, and each journey leads to another path. I hope that your journey will lead you to Kids On Stage this season and that it might change you for good.
All The Best,
When I started Kids On Stage, just over 4 years ago, I knew I wanted to ensure that the program would be sustainable. The result was the creation of Rising Stars.
I wanted to create a place where our youngest cast members could blossom while learning the basics of music, dance, and acting, while preparing them for future roles in our shows.
Rising Stars focus on the three core disciplines of a musical, singing, acting, and dancing. Students get a hands on introduction to each of these through engaging lessons and preparation for their stage debut.
This summer, we are launching our new KOS Rising Star Curriculum which will break the process up into three key points that will ensure a great musical theatre foundation.
Create: Develop artistic work.
Perform: Share artistic work.
Respond: Evaluate artistic work.
Our Rising Star program is growing and so is Kids On Stage and we are excited for the ride! Registration for our Fall 2019 Rising Stars will open late summer!
It is also a pivotal time in the education of so many students. Wether it's passing their first exam, getting an award, or, like me, graduating from high school. In a few short days, I will be crossing the stage and moving to the next part of my life. In the fall, I will be attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to continue my education. Have no fear, we have plans to continue Kids On Stage in the fall and I am so excited to announce that next chapter...stay tuned.
This time of year is very busy for KOS. We're busy preparing for our summer musical, raising funds for our program, and looking to the future of our organization and our community. At Kids On Stage, we are moving forward with bright dreams, bold productions, and outstanding growth. Friends like you help make it possible. Thanks for being there when we ask for your support.
Rising Star participants learn the basics of music through instrument play, creative movement, hands on activities, and games. Rising Stars will learn their own Pre-Show as well as be featured in "Fixer Upper" and "In Summer."

Frozen Jr: Summer 2019
Our Cast Members
After participating in our program, our students become leaders in the classroom and the community. Through KOS, we instill a passion for service and collaboration that carries on long after our production is over.
Our cast members develop strong friendships that continue even longer after our production is over.
The cost of KOS amounts to between $1-2 dollars per hour. That is cheaper than any professional summer program you'll find anywhere.
As a non-profit children's theater, KOS is committed to easing the cost burden for families. Each year, we provide assistance to families with financial limitations.
The Quality of our Productions
KOS successfully balances an intense compressed musical theater experience with the time necessary time to produce a quality product. Rehearsal passes quickly, but about 60 hours of rehearsal go into each hour of performance. Other programs may be shorter, but their final product is not as refined.
This magical, high-flying, family-friendly musical production is approximately 80 minutes in length (with a 15 minute intermission) and is recommended for children & adults of all ages. Visit gckidsonstage.org for performance dates and times, and to purchase tickets.
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have discouraged many nannies before Mary Poppins arrives. The curious new nanny takes the family on magical and memorable adventures, teaching them that “Anything can happen if you let it.” Adapted especially for the young and the young at heart, this musical includes favorite Sherman brothers’ songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

I am proud of Kids On Stage and the level of quality that we expect from our cast members and our Artistic Team. That commitment to excellence helps us become more than just a children’s theater. It helps us build better actors, and more importantly, people.
We hope that you will help us to continue to provide this opportunity to youth across our community by donating to our Giving Tuesday campaign. Check out the "Donate" tab on our website. Thank you for supporting Kids On Stage and the arts in your community!
We also hosted our Annual Awards Night where we awarded cast members for their success this past season. The cast of A Country Carol and Aladdin came back to perform some of their favorite songs for family members over ice cream and tons of laughs. We are so proud of the work that they have done this year!
