The Experience
By registering for this Broadway KIDS Academy Production, your cast member will participate in a fun introduction to musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting while working towards a culminating production of Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS.
Through full cast and small group rehearsals, cast members will receive training in acting, singing, and dance technique. They will learn theatrical terminology and etiquette, and they will build confidence and explore their creative side in a brave, encouraging, and challenging environment. At this level, we will focus on finding our speaking and singing voices to portray characters, projection, understanding physical space on stage, and using our movement to tell the story.
At the end of our rehearsal time together, cast members will showcase their learning in their production of 101 Dalmatians KIDS!
About Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS
Based on the classic animated film, Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella De Vil, Disney's most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences.
Pet owners, Roger and Anita, live happily in London with their Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until Anita's former classmate, the monstrous Cruella De Vil, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat. The Dalmatians rally all the dogs of London for a daring rescue of the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.
Tuition & Other Costs
Tuition for this production experience is $135 per cast member. This production fee will include four months of rehearsal, a cast t-shirt, production materials, and the production script. Due to the participation cost associated with our program compared to the high cost of producing a production, cast members will be required to sell $60 worth of ads for the production's program. More information about this fundraiser can be found here.
Tickets to the performance will be available to parents for purchase prior to the public sale for $5 each.
Schedule
A full rehearsal schedule is attached below. Please look over it closely to make sure your child has minimal conflicts with the rehearsal process and zero conflicts with tech week and show dates. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Greene County Wellness Center (84 N. Perry Drive, Snow Hill, NC 28580)
At the first rehearsal, you will receive a conflict form with an opportunity to tell our Production Team of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. We will take note of these and plan accordingly.
This show has both FULL CAST (all cast members) and small group rehearsals. After the show has been cast, you will get a rehearsal schedule that has exactly who is called for small group rehearsals.

Auditions
No experience is needed to participate in this Broadway KIDS Academy production, and auditions will be held at the first rehearsal in a large group. We intend this to be a whole group, low stress environment. The audition will consist of one whole group song and scenes for those who can read and wish to have speaking solos. Note that the scene is not a required part of the audition.
After registering for the production, an email will be sent to the parent/guardian with instructions for accessing the song needed for auditions. Preparation at home will be helpful, but we will teach the song during the first rehearsal! If your cast member can read and wishes to have a speaking solo, please have them review the scenes ahead of time.
In the end, everyone will get a role and be cast in this production! However, this will not guarantee a speaking or singing solo. Our team will work hard to ensure everyone is placed in the best role for them to learn and grow over the rehearsal period.
